Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently competes within the UFC flyweight division. She is the younger sister of fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her fight sports journey as an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko took the title and beat Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an unanimous decision. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after winning a silver and bronze medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, as well as a Gold medal in 2011 and the 2015 IFMA amateur world champion. Antonia was a professional who started her professional career in 2003, was crowned in 2012 and the 2016 World Lion Fight Lightweight Champion. The WMC World Championships were also held in 2016 and she won the 2016 IFMA Muay Thai World Champion. Antonina took on Isa Tidblad Kskikangas last time at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by unanimous vote. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut came in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan where she was matched against Anara Bayanova. She won 3-0 following the second-round TKO. The following two bouts were won by WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko was forced to take a break from MMA and concentrated on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 against Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko was victorious against Anissa Haddaoui with a unanimous decision. She later defeated Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in an unanimous vote. In 2018, she left the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina defeated Nievera by her superior striking abilities at the end of the fight through knees to the body. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC deal. Antonina made her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale, with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko fell to Roxanne Modafferi via split decision following her first fight. Antonina returned to the ring after her loss and beat Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. This fight earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko was 1-2 over the next three fights. She beat Ariane Lipski, but fell to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO during UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
